What insurance do you have?

I am fully insured with $20 million in public liability and $5 million in professional indemnity, ensuring complete peace of mind for my clients. This coverage extends to all aspects of my photography, including drone operations, so you can be confident that every project is conducted safely and professionally.

How to choose a good photographer!

Choosing the right photographer is about more than just liking their portfolio images — it’s about finding someone who understands your vision, communicates well, and delivers consistently high-quality results.

Do I need to get a model release form if I have a model in my photography?

Yes — if the photos will be used for commercial purposes (like advertising, marketing, websites, or social media for a business), a model release form is essential. It protects both you and your business by giving you legal permission to use the images. If the shoot is purely for personal use or editorial purposes (like news or documentary work), a release might not be required — but it’s still a good idea to have one, just to be safe. I can provide a sample model release forms if needed and walk you through the process.

Should I get my photos retouched?

In most cases, yes — professional retouching gives your photos that final polish that takes them from good to great. It’s not about changing how people look, but about enhancing the image: adjusting lighting, colour balance, removing distractions, and making sure everything looks clean and sharp. Whether it’s a corporate headshot, product image, or event photo, a subtle retouch can make a big difference. All final images I retouch are professionally edited to maintain a natural but refined look.

Why do you need a photographic assistant?

A photographic assistant can make a huge difference to the efficiency and quality of a shoot. They help with setting up lighting, managing gear, holding reflectors or diffusers, and keeping things running smoothly — especially on location or during tight timeframes. This allows the photographer to focus fully on capturing the best images without delays or distractions. Assistants also help with client comfort, posing guidance, and troubleshooting, which can lead to a more relaxed, professional, and productive experience for everyone involved.

How long do you store images for?

I generally keep a backup of your final edited images for around 12 months. However, I strongly recommend that you download and safely store your files as soon as you receive them. This helps avoid any issues down the track — and ensures you have your images on hand when you need them. Life gets busy, and it's easy to forget, so the sooner you save them to your own devices or cloud storage, the better.

Do you require a deposit?

In most cases, no deposit is required. Unless there are significant travel expenses involved, I keep things simple: after the shoot, I’ll send you a set of watermarked preview images. Once the final invoice is paid, I’ll re-upload the full set of hi resolution images without watermarks for you to download. It’s a smooth, no-fuss process that works well for most clients. This process can change from client to client. If you need different payment terms I'm happy to negotiate prior to the shoot.

Who owns the copyright of the images taken?

As the photographer, I retain copyright ownership of all images — this is standard practice under Australian copyright law. However, when you hire me, you receive a licence to use the images for the agreed purpose (for example: marketing, social media, personal use, etc.). If you need broader usage rights or will be selling the images, that can be negotiated too — just let me know your needs upfront, and we’ll make sure everything is clear and covered.

Do you have a studio?

I don’t have a fixed studio space, but I have access to several professional studio locations that are ideal for corporate headshots, fashion, product photography, and more. These venues do carry an additional hire cost, but I’ll recommend the best option to suit your needs and budget.I also have a full set of portable studio equipment and backgrounds, so I can bring the studio to you — whether it’s your office, home, or another location. This flexibility means we can create professional studio-quality images just about anywhere.

Are you able to resize my images for social media?

Yes, I can resize your images for social media or any other specific purpose you need. Whether it's for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or print, I’ll make sure your images are optimised and look their best on each platform or for each use.
